Today, we finished all the cleanup and then we took a trip with the kids (after they finished watching TV). And me. Shadow and bone is not bad!

All the hard work is paying off! But I still eat too much carbohydrates.
Todays weather and temperature: Sun and clouds, around 20 deg C all day. Current stress level (scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high)): 3 Breakfast: French toast and some vegetables. Todays weather and temperature: Sun and clouds, a bit windy and about 25 degrees centigrade. Current stress level (scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high)): 4 Breakfast: "Here", my wife said, "try a piece of this chicken". I did, and it was delicious. Then I gave her back the rest. "Why don't you eat all of it?" she said. "You know I don't want to eat meat." "But it is soy meat!". It did fool me! I was completely flabberghasted! It did not just taste like chicken, it had the same texture. So then we had it with "omelet rice" for breakfast. Lunch: Leftover spaghetti with tomato sauce, leftover apple pie, and yoghurt. Snack: Konyakku jelly with pomegranate juice. Dinner: This mornings "omu-rice" without the omelet, since the kids ate all of it before I got there. And some salad with cucumber and tomatoes (and mozarella cheese). Todays supplements and dosage: 6 fish oil capsules, 4 garlic capsules. Todays UA reading (before breakfast): 8.7 mg/dL, it has been quite high for a long time now, time to get stricter with the diet. Todays step count (total at bedtime): 11495 steps How much did I drink today?: Water 1 liter, coffee 1 liter, tea 1.5 liter, beer-like no-purine drink (with alcohol) 1 liter. Here in Japan, garlic matured in black vinegar is considered both a delicacy and an important part if folk medicine. And the blackend cloves are actually delicious, developing a heavy sweet but mature taste. So I decided to take them (in supplement form) to see if they would lower my uric acid level, which has been high for some time and will not come down (well, I have not focused on my diet). And besides, they are supposed to help with high blood pressure, which I have developed recently. So let us try, it will last a couple of weeks. And at the very least, it will keep the vampires away.
Todays weather and temperature: Colder than yesterday, still spring but not so warm, and cloudy with rainshowers. Current stress level (scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high)): 4 Breakfast: Sandwiches with cheese and pickles Lunch: Chinese cabbage and boiled tofu in tomato sauce. Couple of pieces of parmesan cheese. Snack: Japanese crackers Dinner: Half a bowl of ramen that my daughter did not want, and crackers. Todays supplements and dosage: 6 fish oil capsules, 4 garlic capsules. No How many minutes did I use the Sixpad Foot Fit Plus? 20 My UA will not get down, even though I am back on the low-purine, low-sugar diet. Either I stored up a lot of uric acid during the last few weeks, or I am eating something with hidden purines (there could be shrimp in the spice paste, for instance). There is a potential third explanation, that I am losing so much weight that I am releasing purines, but that feels a bit too much like wishful thinking.
Todays weather and temperature: Cloudy, warm, a gew raindrops. A bit colder in the early morning. But clear enough to see the total lunar eclipse! Current stress level (scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high)): 4 Breakfast: Sandwiches with cheese and egg. Lunch: Bok choy and onion stir-fry with tofu. Snack: Sandwiches (left over from breakfast). Dinner: Some of the kids delicious stew and saffron rice, but even though I removed the shrimp I was not successful in removing the purines. Todays supplements and dosage: 6 fish oil capsules. Todays UA reading (before breakfast): 7.7 mg/dL Todays step count (total at bedtime): 12951 steps How much did I drink today?: Water 1 liter, coffee 1 liter, tea 1.5 liter. Todays weather and temperature: Warm and high clouds, almost no wind during the day, 25 deg c. Current stress level (scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high)): 4 Breakfast: Granola and milk Lunch: Stir-fry with whole grain bread. Snack: Japanese crackers (some sweet). Dinner: Vegetable stew-like soup. Leftover, of course.... And half a "soykatsu", which is usually made with breaded and deep-fried meat. But this was meat-free. Could have been a frozen cheap tonkatsu. Todays supplements and dosage: 6 fish oil capsules Todays UA reading (before breakfast): 7.4 mg/dL Todays step count (total at bedtime): 12454 steps How much did I drink today?: Water 1.5 liter, coffee 1 liter, non-alcoholic purine-free beer-like drink 0.3 liter. Sugar is worse than purines, but we are genetically conditioned to eat it.5/24/2021 Of course I had to eat something sweet and ruin my uric acid efforts.
Todays weather and temperature: Rain showers on and off all day. Current stress level (scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high)): 3 Breakfast: Bread from our favorite bakery cafe. Although they are only bakery now, the cafe part is closed until the pandemic is over. Lunch: Yakiniku restaurant, no meat. Yes, that felt as weird as it sounds, but the stone-baked bibimbap was quite acceptable. Snack: Fried and pickled vegetables in the restaurant of the hot spring bath next to closest to us. Dinner: Hamburger, tonkatsu, and baloney sandwich. No, I am not going on a high-purine diet again. The supermarket suddenly had an entire corner full of meat alternatives. And while the menchikatsu (a kind of breaded and deep-fried hamburger) was so-so, the hamburger (with cheese in it) was better than many hamburgers I have had in restaurarants; and the baloney sandwich was better than most I have had in America. Unfortunately, I also had a slice of apple pie and helped my son eat his traditional Japanese sweet. Which probably will reflect on my UA tomorrow. Todays supplements and dosage: None. I am thinking what I should try next: Orotic acid, bicarbonate (but not of soda), Japanese matured garlic, or vitamin C. But I would really like to get my uric acid under control first. Todays UA reading (before breakfast): 9.5 mg/dL, so one thing I will do to get it under control is to avoid those fabulous Taiwanese lunches. Todays step count (total at bedtime): 9114 steps How much did I drink today?: Water 2 liter, non-alcohol beer-like no-purine drink 1 liter, coffer 1 liter. I gained weight by trying to lose weight. That is not what I had hoped for by skipping carbohydrates and adding fat. I am probably better off going back to my original diet, but increasing the amount of non-starchy vegetables. And no more nuts....
Todays weather and temperature: Rainy and cloudy all day. Current stress level (scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high)): 3 Breakfast: Pancakes with cheese, and bread. And a carrot.
