Strange that I got such a low reading today. Or maybe not, since I had a lot of salad rather than salmon for dinner. And just a little cake.
Just to remind you, this is the second day of no supplements for two weeks, since the cherry experiment was unsuccessful and I want to try another one, but I need a reference point first. Breakfast: Salad, croissant, bacon and eggs. Maybe too much bacon and eggs. Lunch: Dish of the day at a fancy new cafe (in the nearby library). Lots of vegetables (pumpkin is seasonal), and I gave the meat to my son so this will have been a really low-purine meal. Snack: Tofu crackers that I found in a novelty store. Not half bad. Dinner: Salmon in aluminiumfoil jacket baked with mushrooms (maitake and shimeji). Braised broccoli. Cucumber salad. Pear for dessert. Todays UA reading: 6.6 mg/dL, bye-bye crystals! Since they form at concentrations above 6.8!mg/dL (or so), the risk of crystal formation and attacks is much lower at lower uric acid concentrations. And they will tend to dissolve and get excreted. My weight today (since I forgot it yesterday): 123 kg. Unchanged since last week. So that birthday cake may have been poor in purines, but it was rich in other ways.
